POOP MY PANTS
My rule now is that if an indie game namedrops other games in their stupid description, I prioritize playing the games they're citing because they're guaranteed to be better anyway.
Didn't work out so well for Mighty No 9 and Underworld Ascendant.
missed threads
Show me a person who was a kid/teen during the late 90s/turn of the millennium and claims their creative pursuits are not inspired/influenced by Pokemon in the least, and I will show you a person who is lying. They may not mean to, they may not be aware of what it is they do, but they do.
I never had any Nintendo consoles, never got into Pokemon.
>They may not mean to, they may not be aware of what it is they do, but they do.
And you'd still be lying. Pokemon was that big.
What are your creative pursuits? Oh right nothing
When did Dr Who become a vampire?
Bizarre little worldview you have.

It's you who has a weird idea of how your environment shapes you.

Not seeing a lot of Pokemon influence in this wave of indie retro shooters. Not saying I grew up with particularly good shit, spent way too much time on Runescape, but not everyone shared your suburban upbringing.
>suburban upbringing
I know American suburbs are weird, even though I grew in relatively rural Europe. That's just how pop culture influence seeps into you, and Pokemon was fucking everywhere for a good while back in the day.
