Nothing?
You can still go play your ancient pieces of shit anytime. Every one of them have "classic" servers now, and countless pirate ones.

Queues, instancing, and wikis

Addons which turn game on left to the game on right

a large group of people thought they wanted to play mmos. they didnt. so theme park visual novels got popular. the end.

You

Blizzdrones

MMOs were always shit.

Unironically World of Warcraft and how devs used it as a reference point, instead of something like Star Wars Galaxies or Ultima Online, being this the starting point of the "themepark mmo" shitfest

World of Warcraft, ironically enough.

It would feel like an adventure game. They don’t want that. Everything is a conveyor belt of force feeding.

women

It was me. I ruined them. I'm sorry.
Can't promise I won't do it again.

how is getting lost fun? aren't you faggots always complaining about open worlds and begging devs for a more linear and concise gaming experience?

What happened to RuneScape is honestly tragic. The game went from an adventure to a cookie clicker for normalfags

This, but more specifically TBC. Vanilla wow had issues but it was nothing like the utter destruction that was TBC.

A monkey could see through the grift though

MMOs were always shit, what in the fuck is the point of having shitloads of people when everyone is essentially just playing a single player story that now makes no sense since you can see everyone else doing the same actions you do even though clearly only happened once in your story.

>What ruined MMOs?
people complained that they had to remember stuff and overtime developers catered to them.
this is why everything in video games now have a massive indicator pointing where to go because gamers proven that they do not want to read or think. all they want to do is kill things and that's it.

this is what we all created together.
if you do not like it then stop complaining about having to think while gaming.

world of warcraft ruined mmos from day one

We all are more or less veterans of this genre.
We know the patterns and structures of MMOs.
That is one part that makes it hard to get impressed with new MMOs.

-Microtransactions and whales

-Who easy it is to gain information on the games.
Back then it was much harder to gain important informations on games

-Metagaming
People just love to sweat even in easy mmos like their lives are depending on it, just remember those 3iq cancerbrains in wow classic who wasted like 3 hours for collecting world buffs just to save like 30-60minutes on a raid. AND THEY WEREN'T EVEN ABLE TO PLAY WITH THEIR CHARACTERS WHEN THEY GOT THEIR WORLD BUFFS

-Boring Races/Classes
Most MMOs don't make interesting fantasy anymore, its all boring nowadays.

-Boring questing
questing back then wasn't much better in terms of objectives (kill/collect/talk to) but the combination of having to read the quest and having challening experiences with the quests which made us socialize with other people made questing fun.

-Dogshit items/loot
most MMOs don't even bother anymore with having the opportunites to get interesting and good loot. You get like one decent weapon from the main quest which outclasses everything you will find for the next 10 levels until you get the next weapon from the main quest.

-Moderation on the wrong things.
the good ol classic
>buy game
>say word
>money stolen
while bots can do what they want.

>everyone else in the world is the same person
Nothing new under the sun it seems, just retarded niggers like you
