This game is very flawed

>copy and pasted bosses
>copy and pasted enemies
>copy and pasted catacombs
>copy and pasted caves
>seven unique bosses
>multiple regions of the game are largely empty with only 1 or 2 npcs other than nomadic merchants whilst others like the snowfield have zero
>relatively few sidequests for a game of its size and length. much less than skyrim, new vegas, and even less sidequests than non-rpg open world games like rdr2
>music is the worst in the soulsbourne series with only a few memorable
It isn't a bad game but it's not a 10/10. A solid 8 instead.

no one complained about that in botw

Honestly I hate the bloated HP pools of enemies and bosses.

Take Putrid Avatar. He's got three different kinds of attacks. Swing, Stomp, Buttstomp and that lightning magic. But despite his small ass attack pool, he has like 5000 HP. Why? Crucible Knights are terrible for this shit too.

>play Pokemon
>enemy sends out another Pikachu YET AGAIN
>lategame enemies have stronger versions of Pokemon encountered before
>all grasses, seas, houses, Pokemon Centers and Markets use the same model
>CONTENT REUSE!!! GAME RUINED!!!1

>play Skyrim
>all mountains, tombs, stables, farms and mines look the same, dungeons repeat 4-5 tile types
>enemies in are just higher level bandits/draugrs/falmers
>CONTENT REUSE!!! GAME RUINED!!!2

>play Bloodborne
>half of the levels contain the very same Yharnam villagers, crows, giants boars and dogs you encounter in Central Yharnam
>almost every single story boss is recycled in Chalice Dungeons
>CONTENT REUSE!!! GAME RUINED!!!3

>play Sekiro
>every single miniboss is fought multiple times, up to five times
>makes you clear the same Ashina main map not one, not two, but three times
>>CONTENT REUSE!!! GAME RUINED!!!4

>play Age of Empires (2)
>civilizations share the exact same building models
>enemies send the same 6-7 unit types with incremental updates at you for 100s of scenarios
>>CONTENT REUSE!!! GAME RUINED!!!5

>same 8 recolored weapons with the same movesets are sprinkled around the enormous map again and again
>same 8 enemy types with different colors are sprinkled around the enormous map again and again

>play Monster Hunter
>the lategame has you fight the same monsters you already fought, just with higher stats
>subspecies, hardened/tempered/transsexual/whatever versions as excuse to make you fight almost the same monster again
>>CONTENT REUSE!!! GAME RUINED!!!7

>play Chess
>half of your chess pieces are blatantly copypasted pawns, enemies are recolors of your pieces
>all tiles share one of two basic copypasted designs
>>CONTENT REUSE!!! GAME RUINED!!!8

tl;dr: content reuse is a cornerstore of video games. The best games ever made do it constantly. If you’re allergic to it, find another hobby, autist. What matters is the quality of the content and gameplay mechanics.

Elden ring is the best of a bad situation because open world is inherently a bad genre. BOTW, MGSV and Elden ring still do it the best, but all three of these games have huge flaws, mostly because of being set in an open world. (I still haven't played death stranding)

I agree. Elden ring is a very strong 8/10.

The game didnt need to be open world, and adding ashes and mounted combat was a mistake. Also worst pvp by far

Ashes and physik are the only thing interesting about the game

Based zelda fan, never forget how much they fucked us with that "game"

>whataboutism
Never played botw

Its complained about all the time here, but then everyone just copes. Just like how you're coping now

Death Stranding is great because it doesn't really play like an open world game, the traversal itself is the challenge and it's well structured at that.

Yeah, it seems interesting. Really looking forward to trying it out!

Elden Ring is the new BOTW, which itself was the new Skyrim.

Malenia is the worst offender of this.
>TWO BLOATED HP BARS
>Fast
>HIGH damage
>distance closing attacks
>ranged attacks
>2nd deadliest status effect
>self healing
>input reading
>invincibility frames during certain attacks
>multiple attacks with similar wind ups
>endless rng combos

FROM needs to take a class in boss design. There's no reason every boss should have every tool in their kit, especially to this cancerous degree.
Everyone shits on ubisoft for littering maps with markers because "they don't want players to miss out" but we could just turn those off.. FROM did this exact thing but with gameplay, which is worse.
>"we don't want players to miss out on all the new cool combat mechanics, so we'll just force them to master it all in each boss encounter!"

>no one complained about that in botw
There's a thread complaining about those things pretty much every day. Truth is you really can't win with open word, if you insist that nothing is copy-pasted then you end up with tiny 'open' worlds like in Dragon's Dogma.

No game is 10/10. Not one. The closest this series has is Bloodborne

>complains about the only cool and challenging boss that forces you to improve and not faceroll like a nigger
Any Forums is so casual it's unreal.

They don't need to take a class in boss design, they have made some of the best boss fights in the history of gaming in Bloodborne, DS3 and Sekiro. They simply ran out of ideas and are milking their only profitable franchise by appealing to the absolute lowest dregs of normoids by trying to ape Skyrim. Also Malenia doesn't have excessive health, there are many problems with that fight but the size of her health bars is not one of them.

When you play it, i recommend to not explore much, there arent any dungeons or anything like that to find. The game takes you all over the place, and to most major landmarks in jts campaign. Its also already long enough. Flawed but very interesting game.

And I still beat her with mostly fully charged claymore R2s

The only game I wish I refunded when I had the chance. Don't they understand their own soulborne formula? You clear a pain in the ass area in anticipation of a epic boss. You can't do that you when you put shitty copypaste bosses all over. It kills hype.
