My money's on Nintendo's shitty ass online not being able to handle a game that require more precise synchronization, splatoon and mario kart bullshit a lot of it, and stuff like smash and mario maker are infamously trash online

I like the game. Its as fun as I remember the original and Charged being.
I don't know what content people are thinking it should have or are expecting, but it's soccer, not a big single player experience.
Only issues it has right now are the lean roster and no actual 4v4, both I expect to be fixed before long.
Gone, but replaced with just as good of things.

Charged had completely new voice lines
BL uses canned voice lines
Charged was edgy and fresh, with crotch crops and yoshi cursing and peach throwing a tantrum.
BL pretends to be edgy at first glance (boxart, adverts, outfits) but then everyone is happy and generic and inoffensive and bland.
Charged had a basic but serviceable single player mode.
BL is all multiplayer, payed online with terrible servers that can't handle it.
Charged was a 15 year old Wii game
BL is a game on new hardware from 2022, and you should expect better

Battle League has 1 cup win animation and 1 regular win animation per character, Charged has 0 on both.
Battle League has nearly quadruple the animations with the characters on the field, despite having half the roster.
