It's a relatively fast paced arcadey gimmick roguelike. There's not THAT much depth to it, it's just a timewaster I particularly enjoy.
You can try getting different endings and such, try beating the game with different classes, etc.
That screenshot is from Mystery Chronicles One Way Heroics, a reboot/spinoff by Spike Chunsoft. I just use that for the OP image because it's a lot more eye catching than the original game's 640x480 extremely basic style.
Feel free to talk about MCOWH in this thread too though.

Oh good, out of the Snow Fields ust in time for the miniboss squad.
Because Force User wants Energy to use spells, and Wilds and Snow Fields have almost no food/drain Energy faster than normal. It's a really rough start in this seed if you pick Force User.

Yeah, a lot of the classes are kind of samey since almost everyone relies on basic attacks, so the ability to learn force spells makes a noticeable change for killing things.

I wish there were some shops around so I could unload this stuff. Or an appraiser at least so I can figure out how much of this is just trash.
There's more ranged options in MCOWH, I guess the regular game is limited to bows. They're alright, but I don't like them too much since you can't equip shields with them, and it takes a couple turns to swap to a a shield+melee if you don't exclusively use bow&arrow.
