>Nintendo wants to experiment with full priced gaming experiences on smart phones >Pokemon Gen 4 remakes originally started development as a Android/iPhone exclusive before Nintendo got cold feet, and production transfered to the Nintendo switch >Current plan is for an Animal Crossing New Leaf port for 40 dollars, using controls and carrying some featured from Pocket Camp >Also developing a Nintendogs game
>Pokemon Gen 4 remakes originally started development as a Android/iPhone exclusive Already bullshit. Gen 4 was released in 2006 which means work stated on it in 2004 at minimum. 3 years before the iPhones release Also Nintendo has no reason to make phone games, they make a profit on consoles sold
Alexander Rivera
There is no market for full priced mobile games. Literally none.
Jaxon Wood
Shit my bad bad I didn't read remakes there. But my other point still stands
Matthew Clark
the only reason normalfags like mobile so much is cause it's cheap. squenix tried full price ports of its games and nobody bought them
Carson Gomez
They couldn't even get people to pay a couple dollars to unlock all of mario run, they ain't going to get them to buy full games
Landon Scott
this was one of the first things shuntaro furukawa planned when he became president, and I'm sure it would have been done in 2020 or 2021 if not for covid
>full priced bad idea they can expect 3ds pricing
>pokemon gen4 remakes makes sense
>animal crossing/nintendogs makes sense for phones
there's many other ds games that would be perfect for phones, especially if you can link them up with the switch for other things streetpass can come back using bluetooth roaming
a whole bunch of touchscreen based games would work great on phones cooking guide youtube.com/watch?v=BYKuNCscTag brain training puzzle league (the ds one youtube.com/watch?v=UhyTMgxAn_A ) picross another touchscreen based zelda like phantom hourglass/spirit tracks visual novels advance wars (lol) fire emblem but a proper standalone story with nice graphics and no heroes collecting shit ouendan/eba (if they even have the rights or can even convince iNiS to come back) clubhouse games wario ware/rhythm heaven tomodachi life that 3ds streetpass rpg
if nintendo release an official phone attachment or case that give you high quality physical buttons and a dpad, then it would be possible to offer GB, GBC, GBA, NES, SNES and other types of games
the content wasn't compelling the problem isn't mobile, it's nintendo's approach to mobile all 4 of the nintendo apps they made felt really lame with dumb in game purchases if they just treated phones like they were a new nintendo handheld with complete games and maybe 1 or 2 dlc CONTENT updates, then people would buy
Lincoln Miller
>nintendo >ever devaluing its brand for short-term profit with shit they could just put on the switch
not on your life sport
they didn't do it when the wii u was floundering, they sure as hell aren't gonna do it now
It doesn’t, because Mario Kart and Fire Emblem make bank from their smartphone games
Jordan Adams
That was under better leaders than the pencil neck geek in charge now though. Iwata fought shareholders who wanted to go mobile while Furukawa probably will go along with what they want.
Gabriel Murphy
You fucking moron, do your research. Gen 4 started work in 2003 according to Masuda, and iPods existed before the iPhone, meaning that it could theoretically have been developed for it. Also you fucking nitwit, Nintendo already has reason to make phone games because it costs less to make games for 1 screen vs 2 screens (the DS has two screens if u don't know) because twice the screens means twice the output. It would be cheaper for Nintendo to go 1 screen only and stop making consoles.
Daniel Russell
they've already tried to sell mobile games with a traditional pricing strategy with super mario run and it was such a failure they immediately changed tune and started shitting out gacha games like everyone else, dilate and sneed OP
David Price
>Also Nintendo has no reason to make phone games Are you a time traveler from 2012 or something? Nintendo has been making phone games for years
>they could just put on the switch nobody is going to carry around their switch everywhere they go, but everyone has a phone and streetpass was great until I couldn't be arsed to carry my 3ds and phone everywhere
super mario run sucked no idea what miyamoto was thinking
thats pretty insane imagine making 76 million from recycled nsmb assets
wonder how well miitomo did before it got axed wonder what all the nintendo nerds did when they lost all the bs clothing they bought for their miis in it
Wyatt Reed
"Games"
Jaxon Perry
Why are tertiaries so literally obsessed about memeying so hard they must invent crazy shit like this all day long to feel alive?
Joshua Scott
>imagine making 76 million from recycled nsmb assets Imagine making $656 million from milking waifufags with anime JPGs
Oliver Hall
yeah, but they at least commissioned new art, recorded some great new tunes, actual effort shame about the rest of the game though
I still think it looks fugly though I only played it once when it was released and never bought anything did they ever make bigger maps later?
Nathaniel Phillips
>Bing bing wahoo keeps making it easier for me to pirate their shit Based tendies
