Why was it so much better than WoWC?
Why was it so much better than WoWC?
community makes a game.(except solo games)
to a lot of people its just like zuckerbergs meta, basically a 3d chat room
retail classic started with too many servers and after the hype died most servers are empty
The two things it had over Classic is that it was free and that you had entire world playing on a single server, which led to funny culture clashes.
it was the only time since vanilla wow where the game GREW over the course of the servers life instead of start with 999999 people and then die off after a month
1. community
2. racism
3. sexism
4. homophobia
5. minimal amount of normies
6. buffed raids
7. crater pvp
8. no batching
9. no layering
10. the game was actually playable when you had more than 50 people in an area unlike classic shit
>when a bunch of reverse engineers on their spare time produce better code
Community, giant server, overtuned content, Paladins inadvertently buffed
Because fuckton of active players and cooperation/competition derived from that matters far more than server queues, balance or stable economy. Most people will never admit to this.
People wanted to actually play the game instead of buy their way to bis and it was cross region.
private servers are moderated.
blizzard servers have zero moderation and are crammed with cheaters, bots, cheating bots and hackers.
My one regret is we'll never again see a massive private server like that. Only fringe ones doing their own thing like Vanilla+ or Turtle WoW get any real traction.
Nost was the last time wow felt like a world to me. seeing 50 people all spam tab and instant cast spells trying to all tag the starting mobs was beautiful.
>wow party
>six people
why? its like youve never even played the game.
Everlook
The "illicit" nature of private servers is an incredible filter for keeping normalfags, esport psychos, streamers, and retards out of your game. You get more poorfag slavs and chinks but I would HAPPILY play on a server with 2000 /who results for "xiao" than have to run a dungeon with some idiot "content creator" streaming everything he does in the game like he thinks he's making history. It's just a more fun and positive community overall, even if it's still not perfect.
Plus the way a private server is just inherently ran demands a lot more effort and community engagement from the devs if they actually want to keep players interested in their server. The way Blizzard ran classic was just retarded, I've seen private servers die out for way less than the fuckups blizzard pulled. That instance farming exploit alone would get people to drop from a private server like flies.
Shill it to me.
Fresh vanilla private server by lights hope team with 19k members in their discord currently.
>mfw FRESH
>entire world playing on a single server
yeah this was the main problem with wow classic, then of course they quickly started making all the same mistakes they did for retail (making everything convenient and watered down, adding $$$ boosts, etc.)
its gonna flop they already removed some of the core components of private wow server soul
It wasn't. It had the same levels of autism, just fewer players so breaking the game couldn't happen in the typical release cycle.
Nostbabies will always be the worst thing to happen to private servers.
Private server communities were unironically better for years, I've made shitload of lifetime friends on pservers, got invited to two weddings.
But pservers are now DOA. Too many retail blizzdrones who treat them like another season of mythic+ while admins try to make cash, turning every single one of them into English only globohomo products.
Interesting. ETA for release?
You will never get a Blizzard drone to admit it but private servers offered a better experience than classic WoW for years now.
>poorfag
>imagine playing classic
>boomer
oh, also wow classic started on a VERY late patch version, where they had already made the game way too easy and ruined a bunch of stuff. It was basically TBC numbers where your health and mana just regens in a few seconds, making the entire cooking profession and various abilities/items pointless while leveling
>But pservers are now DOA.
like one user said it's servers with a gimmick that can survive now as most players who would want to relive their vanilla days go to classic
Fr fr no cap. I speak Russian and playing on gopnik servers was the most soulful experience I've ever had in WoW. I've also heard great things about Czechoslovakian servers but these communities are now dead, Slavs aren't interested in paying for server hosting because they're too broke and the population dwindled as more and more zoomers from Eastern Europe just decide to stick to English speaking mega servers.
The server quality alone was unironically better than retail Classic. Just look at what happened after the Nost core continued being developed, on Nost the entire server was fighting over the Nightmare dragons with virtually no lag and no crashes. On the proceeding servers it's so incredibly smooth it beggars belief. Retail Classic servers unironically lag out, die and start shitting themselves when more than 40 people are fighting each other in the open world and the server completely breaks down when it gets bigger. Look at the AQ event for Classic Retail, it literally crashed and broke most servers. It was a disaster. That's just ONE thing, there's a long list of reasons.
Classic started on the patch after they nerfed 2h enhancement so nobody ever got to experience that again
>Nost the entire server was fighting over the Nightmare dragons with virtually no lag and no crashes
Lol, there were plenty of crashes. And the 2 foot draw distance was absolute cancer.
