In that party infiltration mission of Dishonored one of the devs said that playtesters would go up to the guards at the staircase, they'd say "no ones allowed upstairs" and then the playtesters would just roam the bottom floor never advancing the mission, so they had to put an explicit way point and objective "FIND A WAY UPSTAIRS"
