Why would anyone buy Sonic Origins when there are better alternatives you can get for free?

Sonic 3&K Origins will be much more polished.
This isn't DOOM or Duke Nukem 3D where fanmade source ports have existed for a long time and are superior to the official ports.

Widescreen, most people will probably get the Switch version for portability, not everyone knows about fangames, lot's of people want their games on one system, for some people it's not a lot of money and also fanboys...
I'll probably get it on Switch when it hit like $15 on sale at Christmas just to have widescreen Sonic on a handheld.

I bought the Megadrive collection on steam because I wanted to official support it, but seeing this kind of BS they're pulling has made me don the skull and crossbones.

It's has cool shit I want to see and try out. plus mods. it's like mega collection almost.
sonic 3K is my favourite game of all time. I've beaten it over a hundred times over the years, on the original genesis, on emulators, on a.i.r.. I might as well play it again

I skipped the decomps because of the pain of setting them up. I didn't know 1 & 2 had mods.

I believe Jun Senoue is fixing up the protype versions to add them to Origins. That would be Launch Base, Icecap, Carnival Night, and I think the miniboss and knuckles' theme and some other smaller stuff.
