Honestly I think it will benefit from TLOU2 gameplay/AI and the expanded gore detail but they’ve completely ruined most of the characters designs, Ellie being the most obvious. I think Joel looks ok but still a little off and I prefer his original model. It looks like they’ve made Tess an ugly hag now as well.

LMAO It's just so pointless. It looks 'slightly' better in terms of realism but just ever so slightly and is nigh not even noticeable. This DID NOT need a remake. TLOU1 though did so well though that I think that wanna bring that atmosphere back to current Sony and instead of actually making a new and good non-faggoty game, they just 'remake' an actual good game from 9 years ago. the gameplay in TLOU1 is fine. It's some of the best stealth in a non-stealth game I've ever played. Who cares if Ellie doesn't attract enemy attention when she wanders around. That's a good thing because if she did, you'd complain even harder about that

I loved Last of Us 1 graphics (great game overall to me though) because it feels like it captures that concept art look that you never actually see in a game, that's probably because of baked in lightning but if gets the aesthetic, what's the harm? I wish I could find the words on what I don't like it.
I find it technically impressive, like say Red dead redemption but it seems like is trying to be more realistic rather than focus on a specific aesthetic, is kinda going against its own identity to me.

you wouldn't know this, but part 2 has much better gameplay. it's hard to play the first one after you've played the 2nd. everything is more linear and more restricted in the first game

Whoever did the capture probably didn't let the textures stream in fast enough. Dev builds are usually much slower than retail streaming so it takes 20 seconds to fully load.

I like the more contrasty look of the original but it also has this weird oversharpened quality to it, like they ran it through a Reshade filter or something. Remake looks much softer and more pleasing.
