>alt tab
>game crashes
Alt tab
>alt tab
>computer crashes
>open task manager
>game starts responding again
>close game
>graphics card drivers hard crash
>use Linux
>no issues to speak of
>game loading
>alt+tab
>the loading is paused
fuck the retards who keep putting this shit in their games
>game loading
>based on framerate (vsync'd)
>runs at unlimited fps when tabbed out
>loads instantly
>use linux
>game doesnt work
>>game loading
>>based on framerate (vsync'd)
is this a thing?
>alt tab
>screen is black for like 5 seconds
>alt tab back in
>another five seconds of black screen
>game is now somehow not in the resolution it used to be and it switched from fullscreen/borderless to a normal window
>plug in headphones
>game audio still playing through HDMI
one very old game I played did. loading screens would take minutes otherwise, tab out and back in they completed instantly.
>exit game normally via menu
>it crashes
well fuck you! i was leaving anyway!
it’s like having a guest over, being nice and respectful, politely showing them the door once the night’s over and then shouting FUCK OFF once they leave your house
>click exit
>"game stopped responding"
>computer slows down and needs to restart
>game crashes on alt-tab
>task manager can't even stop the process
>have to hit the shutdown pc button and then quickly hit cancel for the game to actually close
>the main char is killed by an deus ex-machina.
>alt tab
>computer bluescreens
>can't see the error message before it reboots, only the giant fucking :(
why does this keep happening fuck
WOMM
>play game on steam
>shift tab
>game crashes
>alt-tabbing causes this to happen
>have to restart the whole game to fix it
can someone please explain why games inf fullscreen struggle to run after alt tabbing
is there an actual solution to this one
>game hangs
>need to kill the game program, ctrl+alt+delete to open task manager
>screen is black so I can't see task manager
>hold down alt-tab, shows a thumbnail version of my running programs, so I can tab to task manager and get up 6 inches away from my screen so I can see the task list in the thumbnail, then I can hit up and down until the right hanging program is highlighted and hit alt-E to terminate it
>normal desktop and everything is fine, relaunch game
there must be a way to handle that alt-tab blackscreen without being a retard but I've put up with it like a hundred times over the years
this shit used to happen to me in CSS and CSGO and fkn tilted me everytime
>alt tab
>alt tab back in
>mouse cursor is stuck in the middle of the screen
I have the opposite issue most of the time. Game boots up looking like psychedelic tie dye, alt-tab fixes it.
Linux solves all game problems. No games no problems
>alt tab
>pic related gets stuck on the screen until system reboot
>play games in windowed mode
>nothing ever crashes again from alt tabbing, no problems with vsync
if he had framerate capped it can be a thing. there's also games that will happily run in hundreds fps when you alt tab and make your gpu go full retard. also similarly bizzare thing was the 3090 new world issue where 3090s didn't have adequate vrm and in new world loading screen they were able to literally blow themselves up.
>win tab
is good for you
fallout 4
>playing a game
>alt tabs
do people actually do this?
yes
every 15 seconds or so yeah
wait a few years and you'll get there as well
>playing a game
where do you think you are bitch?
if you have one monitor, yeah.
the state of games
You can set the task manager to always be on top of other windows
well how the fuck do you expect me to reply to my mum when she tells me the tendies are done user
mobile phone? that's for zoomers and people with friends and gacha fags
tablet? that's just the same but for people with fucked up eyesight
laptop? i need every inch of my desk, where do you expect me to put the plates of tendies and pizza boxes
multiple monitors? the other monitor is wired into my console
you rimjob
get some perspective user!
Dragon Age Inquisition and Fallout 4.
I remember DAI taking 5 minutes to load with an external 30 fps cap.
>launch game for the first time
>resolution: 640×480
>desktop icons have been rearranged
I'm 32, and have been gaming on a computer for 20 years
how long does it take?
>alt tab
>game doesn't load to 100%
>end task of program
>hear the gameplay of the game I was supposed to be in
>5 minutes to load back in
>Leaver Penalty
>use Linux
>no games to play
Yes. Do you expect me to phonepost here or something?
I expect you not to be here at all if you're playing a video game
>use windows
>not in mood to play anything
>get tired or whatever want some variety
>want to take a small break
>alt tab for 10 minutes
>come back
