The problem is FF has fans with legit brain problems. They will buy 100 dogshit FF games before trying a single Persona or Dragon Quest game. Or any other JRPG, and definitely not a WRPG.
They are FF loyal because they started on FF. If they play anything else they sulk that it isn't FF and turn it off after 30 minutes. This is how SE can get away with making shit games for 20 years and still have fans who won't walk away or at least consider alternatives.

If someone released the objectively greatest JRPG of all time next year and it was called Victory Convalescence or something, they wouldn't touch it.
If SE released the WORST JRPG of all time next year and it was called Final Fantasy 0 Re:Memberance, they would buy that instead.

For Persona 6 I just want them to go back to the entire party being the 'wild card', it would solve so many issues
