Go fot it.

Only if you quit before the Scooby Doo-esque true ending. And then never touch either of the sequels.
I love this song. It really made the game for me.

I have read many VNs, even one's very similar to this one in terms of gameplay and story, and it's by far my least favorite. I seriously recommend you play every danganronpa or ace attorney game/spinoff before you go near this. If this post gets a bunch of angry replies and you are swayed by them or just don't believe me in general at least go with any version that isn't the ds version, as that version made me play the entire game 8 different times and each time you need to solve the puzzles (which is a downside because they aren't good) and the text is extremely slow.
Do not play Danganronpa. That retard knew it would get angry replies because he's wrong.
I already did a year ago, havent played Ace Attorney though
No, it's genuinely one of the worst games i've played in my life and I regret every second spent.
I don't even think danganronpa is that good either but it's way better than 999
yes now get out of here before you get spoiled.
And before you ask yes contrary to what everyone else says, i thought the second game was also really good if you can look past the weird 3d vita graphics BUT the 3rd game is correct to be deemed shit.
No its not a subjective view or bandwagoning but the 3rd game is actual shit and a spit in the face to end the series
999 is still a masterpiece though and also ends on a rather conclusive ending. Try to play it on a ds emulator instead of the steam version
I believe you're owed a (you), DR and AA Enjoyer.
How is this opinion possible
Yeah 999 and VLR are good, it's just too bad they never made a third one. The DS version has a really neat twist in it but the Steam version has decent voice acting and doesn't make you replay bits you've already seen, so reactions on which version is better are mixed.
we can debate it if you want, the gameplay and story are both better. what do you disagree about?
It's good but nowhere near a masterpiece
I disagree about the gameplay and the story, which is better in 999
This is quickly turning into a shit fling. Quickly, what sociopaths would you like to see in a Nonary Game? I suddenly wonder if an Awakening fanfic exists with Outrealm shit being the field/time line shenanigans of the scenario.
>Danganronpa
Nah
More like who's getting Ai2 in two weeks
I've played 999 (DS) and Danganronpa (PSP) once each like a decade ago. I'd recommend DR over 999. Never touched the sequel(s) to either one. It mostly comes down to the endings, of which I found DRs stronger, and that 999 makes you replay parts of the game over and over until you reach its underwhelming real ending.
just leave the thread already dangantranny
gameplay is way more entertaining in danganronpa. You solve cases and that's all you do, but there are varied mini games and questions that keep you thinking about each case individually and there's a pretty good variety. I'm going to be honest here and tell you the escape rooms in 999 are approaching mental retardation levels of easy and even then they pull the same thing multiple times. Most of the problems you have in 999 are
>im given a few numbers, what do I do with these numbers?
>there's a number, what do I do with this number?
>these things have labels, what labels correlate to which numbers?
it's super samey and you use the digital root or whatever and hexedecimal for a lot of stuff. It's really not all that engaging. afterwards, what happens? you leave the room, and most of the time nothing that went on in the room is any meaningful to the ending. I think danganronpa does it better by having little mini stories where you see who was lost and finally through the result of the questions, see who betrayed them. It's much more satisfying playing through the game in short bursts to get little bits of mini stories than go through some puzzles, have a character spend 10 minutes info dumping something irrelevant and completely out of character, and then continuing on
in terms of story I think danganronpa has a completely abysmal story and I haven't even finished 3 to care (im halfway through and set it aside for now) but after dangan 1 I could ignore the story and just focus on the character's personalities, motivations, etc. In 999 the entire game is based around the ending.
I seriously believe the ending to this game to be the biggest waste of time out of everything I've ever read/watched. Granted it had more riding on it because it's a lengthy VN but still
pretty much everyone agrees that VLR is a good albeit more flawed game.
personally I prefer it over 999 because the peaks are godlike
