Bethesda has been planning Starfield for over 20 years. Todd said he wants Starfield to return to Bethesda's "hardcore RPG roots." Just how hardcore is this game gonna be? Does this mean we're getting Morrowind in space, Daggerfall in space, or Dwarf Fortress in space?

System shock in space is my take definitely
>Just how hardcore is this game gonna be?
no idea, we’ll see on sunday during the showcase
Todd is lying again, it will be Fallout 4 in space.
Hardcore RPG elements like in Fallout 1 and 2
Bethesda have been trying and failing to make a successful space games even before Todd were hired. It's their first attempt of making another space game after decades. As for the hardcore RPG root thing, i don't think he ever said it, the only thing i can find is that he described it more as "Skyrim in space".
washingtonpost.com
>"It's like 'Skyrim' in space."
>That’s how Bethesda Game Studios Executive Producer Todd Howard described the upcoming game “Starfield” in an exclusive video interview with The Washington Post. “Starfield,” in development since 2017, represents the first new IP in 25 years for Bethesda, the video game studio behind the critically acclaimed action role-playing series “The Elder Scrolls” and “Fallout.” The new space-based role-playing game will be released Nov. 11 of 2022 for PC and Xbox Series X and S.
No more lies Todd. It being on a design doc 20 years ago doesn't mean anybody has thought of it before 5 years ago.
Todds emails from the 90s have him talking about how he wants to make a space RPG. Dude has wanted to make this shit forever.
This is Bethesda's RPG, and Todd always has ways to gross you out that you wouldn't expect.
At most it'll be oblivion in space, but more likely it will be fallout 4 in space with a barely functioning gamebyro engine they keep trying to make look good with no thought given to gameplay itself. Bethesda is dead.
It means you're getting an even more casualized Fallout 4 in space. Imagine unironically believing the Peter Molydeux of Bethesda when he has habitually lied and oversold every single one of his products.
>Todd said he wants Starfield to return to Bethesda's "hardcore RPG roots."
You'd have to be literally retarded to believe that hack at this point.
Settlement building but with stuff that looks like it came from the apple store.
People always complain about the settlement thing but why is it bad anyway? never played Fallout 4 so i don't know anything about it.
>Join company
>become the lead on one of its pre-existing IPs.
>cut out the RPG elements and make it more action-focused.
>Aquire another pre-existing IP and do the same thing.
>Finally get to make your own IP
>Add back all the Hardcore RPG elements
>The IP you created is now known as the hardcore RPG
>the others are known as casual games.
Holy fucking based. We are about to see 20 years of Todd's gigabrain planning finally executed. Will the rest of the Industry survive this absolute fucking unit?
It could be removed and the game wouldn't really lose anything for it. Some people have done some pretty elaborate stuff for screenshots but for 99% of players it's just uninteresting busywork.
But those aren't Bethesda games
I'll believe it when I see it Todd.
>Todd said that he wanted this to be his MAGNUM OPUS
i want to fucking believe bros...
>Just how hardcore is this game gonna be? Does this mean we're getting Morrowind
Morrowind is not a hardcore RPG, hell it's barely a RPG
>Daggerfall in space
This
i believe in todd
Based
>Does this mean we're getting Morrowind in space, Daggerfall in space, or Dwarf Fortress in space?
Of course not OP. Don't be absurd. It's gonna be Oblivion with laser guns and you know it.
>cut out the RPG elements and make it more action-focused.
>despite having not the faintest clue how to make a good action game
>Add back all the Hardcore RPG elements
It's not happening. Not that Bethesda's older RPGs were really hardcore in the first place.
Be quite child Morrowind is still their best game. You Daggerfags need to get over it FFS.
