I want a remake of 2, back when the series knew how to balance whacky with GTA style crime. 3 is where it all went wrong, and they rushed out an unfinished product that forever tainted the series afterwards.

The series needs a reboot, it couldn't escalate much more than it has. It doesn't need to be rebooted like this. The game is made with poor taste driving the design. It looks as unappealing as Watchdogs. Diversity quotas sanitize games and strip all provocative elements. I expect to think and act like this in the workplace but I'm not interested in content that is essentially made while walking on eggshells when I'm off the clock.

I would genuinely be indifferent if not for the fact that it's leading to IdolNinja's SR2 patch to continue rotting away.

I was open minded about it, despite some obvious red flags, until I tried the character creator today.
The bias toward masculine looking faces and body proportions is so obvious, there is literally no good starting point for an attractive female.
And the graphics look worse than their last game Agents of Mayhem, despite it's cartoony art style.
I don't know what the fuck they're doing over there at Volition but I'm not buying this shit and actually hope this game flops.

THQ Nordic owns them. Worst case Volition gets liquidated and THQ pushes the patch out as damage control.

Saints Row used to pioneer character creation, so this is sad to see. They couldn't do something as basic as separating ass, leg and shoulder sliders, instead opting for SR3's pyramid. The hair selections suck, we don't even have a basic long and straight or long and wavy style. Bringing back layered clothing from the early games is a positive, but rings hollow when everything is as baggy as fucking SR1 clothing even on a slim as fuck female. You can't even slut it up with the G-string anymore since none of the pants are low cut, what's the fucking point?
That's not even bringing up how there's no walk cycle selection. I want this game to be good and I wish Volition could knock it out of the park, but this character creator is one step forward and two steps back and that feels like it'll ring true for the whole game.

thats fine but I want a gangland story with some wacky shit happening in the ghetto like the first 2 not the wacky zany "HEY LOOK AT ME IM QUIRKY ARENT I FUNNY" stuff we've gotten with every game since 2 cause having the wacky everywhere cheapens it and makes it less funny and it seems in the last 10 years no one has learned if you balance serious and funny you'll get a better product. But atleast the creator is good
