How do I get better at this game?
Armored Core
You don't play, you never touched the game in your life, if you wanted to make a thread on it, then do so, dont' start with this faggy bullshit
Good on you for checking out that series and starting at the very beginning
With that said, in this particular instance, I recommend skipping the first one and going straight to the PS2 games, they're so much better.
Flamethrowers and high DPS uzis are OP
just learn bro idk, AC for me was a bit of trial and error till something stuck, admittedly my first one was last raven, though
yeah #1 doesn't really allow for you to "git gud" you just keep playing until you unlock the weapons with the highest damage then you get to mow shit down
good on you for checking out this game but you wont miss out if you move to number 2 now rather then grinding for the best gear in #1
suck my cock
Is there anything im missing by moving to the second game? i kinda like the premise for the story. will i be lost if I skip?
Use the right hand mini gun with 1000 bullets, buy the most expensive fcs with fast lock on, get a missile launcher on the back that shorts up to six small missiles. Radars aren’t really necessary as you can buy a good one that comes with one of the heads in the shop.
In the end game, replace right arm wep with the Karasawa if you need to get through the other armored cores.
>admittedly my first one was last raven, though
Damn, considering that's supposed to be the hardest in the series, confirmed Gigachad.
Machine guns and missiles is EZPZ build for 90% of the franchise.
You won’t miss out on anything in the story.
As much as I’m fond of the series, the story is it’s weak point. You won’t lose anything important if you skip.
did the game have the parts transfer mechanic from games to games.
I hate that that i was never able to use the part that let you use the back part grenade launchers for bipedals without squatting.
You can always become a humanpluscuck
Pro-tip: missiles in the first three games are garbage. You're better off investing in magazines that enhance your primary weapon.
1 doesn't have mags.
Then save it for MOA, where you're gonna need it for harsh arena fights.
play the way it was meant to be played
I skipped to 3 on the ps2. I hear theres better movement later on in the series.
Damn. i like the premise a lot.
Is there anyway to get used to the controls or is it just one of those "playthrough a game and next game in the series it'll all click"
Strafe around your target and jump/hover periodically to mess up their target leading and you'll just never get hit and you can do this for the entire game
kek imagine skipping the first three games thinking it will make any difference. AC games didn't change at all until Nexus and I guess Formula Front if you want to be pedantic, you can jump from AC1 to Silent Line and play the same way. Its amazing how well realized the first game was when you think about it, the only thing missing was the arena.
Hold down R1/L1
Parts sell for 100% value so use that to break swap shit parts for good ones and ALWAYS use the AC test. Especially when it comes to shit like FCS where the old games don't even display half of their stats.
Also noise cancelling is literally used in one mission then never again
It's just muscle memory. The real thing to learn is bunny hops. Once you get that down all combat is trivial. Also you'll notice ACs get a lot less frail from project phantasma on.
I think after a few missions it’ll start to click. Just keep in mind it’s not a modern game, and the camera is a pain to navigate in the midst of combat. Would be great if you can map it to the right analogue stick; maybe one of the roms allow for it?
They're DPS races until Nexus which makes you manage heat.
