KOTOR

So before the non-canon shitpiece TOR was developed, what was the plot for KOTOR 3 going to be? What was Revan's plan?

we were gonna find him in the unknown regions and link up to defeat the true sith.

Revan was supposed to fight the Yuuzhan Vong. Canderous even mentions seeing them in the first game if you ask about his war stories. There wasn't much else in the EU so pants shittingly upsetting that would warrant abandoning the known galaxy to go fight a war in the unknown regions

Kreia outright says theres an Ancient Sith Empire that Revan went to fight.

basically these.
They fucked up with SWTOR. It would've been right if Revan and Exile together took down the true sith emperor.

but the canon is basically Revan and the Jedi Knight kill the Emperor
I feel like a lot of people didn't really play or pay attention to what was going on in TOR, the Jedi Knight story is KotOR 3

After realizing the existence of the Sith Empire in the Unknown Regions during the Mandalorian War, Revan's original plan was to build an invincible fleet with the Star Forge to defeat the Republic quickly without damaging any of its key infrastructure. He realized that the slothful inefficiency of the Republic's overly complex democracy would spell its destruction so his plan was to temporarily replace it with a faster, more efficient Sith Empire of his own before abdicating once the threat was neutralized. When that failed following the events of the game, he destroyed the Star Forge in accordance with his promise to the Rakatans because its corruptive influence in the dark side was too dangerous to control and too much of a wild card to rely on. He'd already seen the potential damage it could cause with the corruption and betrayal of his apprentice. He then decided to leave the Republic and infiltrate the Sith Empire, likely to try and destabilize it politically through assassination and guerrilla warfare to buy enough time for the Republic to marshal a force capable of fighting it.

The plot of KOTOR 3 would probably have either been playing as Revan and the Exile in the Sith Empire or playing as a new character in the war between the Republic and the Sith.

Why are there so many kotor threads lately?

True sith seem like a shitty villian, just more power creep which turns Star Wars into DBZ
>All along WE were the ones pulling the strings
However, it still sounds better than the shitfest Bioware made.

Rerelease by Aspyr just released and there was some minor news about the Remake recently

but that's literally what Bioware did

ITT: No one has a clue.
From Chris himself:
>According to Chris Avellone, the creative team behind the first two games always intended to make a trilogy:[2]

"The third game involved you, as a player character, following where Revan went and then taking the battle to the really ancient Sith lords who are far more terrifying than the Darths that show up. These guys would just be monsters. These would have a level of power that was considerable, but at the same time you'd be able to dig more into their psychologies, and their personalities, their history, and even how they dealt with the player, how they talk with the player, the different powers they cultivated and developed, and for some of them like – they're the ancients, so they're not just ruling a solar system, [but] swathes of the galaxy.

"So the places you travel to [you'd see] how they left their stamp on that world, or that solar system, or whatever collection of moons. You'd see how horrible that was. Part of that environment would tell a story about that. [That] would be a great, epic way to end the trilogy. The Old Republic are out there. We just didn't get a chance to do it."

Always loved Revan’s purple and red saber look

the end of KOTOR2 is pretty explicit about the "true sith" or whatever being out there in the Outer Rim and that's what corrupted Revan and that's where everyone was heading, I think TOR does the storyline too the sith that they kept talking about was Vitiate

Ask 90% of star wars fags, hell, ask 90% of SWTOR players TODAY even if they would have preferred a proper KOTOR 3, and you'll find a majority will say yes.
SWTOR was a 'cool idea' of having 8+ star wars stories that got fucked by bioware's incompetence.
This JK storyline = KOTOR 3 is a fucking meme that BioWare came up with for people to unironically COPE around the time of release.

They managed to make it even worse, Revan and Exile became jobbers so the MMO character could save the day

sounds like these ideas later became Tyranny

I can bitch a lot about things in TOR, but the stories were perfectly fine, the JK one was predictable and safe, sort of like KoTOR and was very typical Bioware plot
the only stories that were bad, was due to blandness like the Trooper and the Jedi Consular, though in the Consular story people missed the underlying message of painting your teenage padawans womb with semen is the Jedi way
that would have happened regardless, or they would have not even shown up
no one wants to play a story where you get overshadowed at the end, and at least Revan needed your help and wasn't completely thrown to the wayside

Here's the comics if anyone would like to get ideas of what could been. The artstyle flip-flops between good to great and utterly terrible-can't-tell-whos-who, as is tradition with licensed shit for whatever reason. And yes, Revan is in.

The idea of never getting a KOTOR 3 ever sounds much better than Disney owning the IP. Think about would you be happier with Lucas holding the IP close to the vest or some bullcrap with Disney where the KOTOR remakes will spawn an actual KOTOR 3 that'll be so fucking terrible it'll make the worst SW games look like acclaimed masterpieces?

Sounds way too overly ambitious, like everything Obsidian worked on

I like the Dark Horse comics a lot but they set it before the games and it's not really relevant beyond a few cameos.

Sounds lame to be honest. This is WoW level story, meh.

Agree, but what I mostly want out of folks checking out the comics is discussion about how a game could be made with the story from the this-specific-bit-of-SW-EU. I think they warrant at least something more than what we got. And I'm aware my grammar is complete shit as I'm for whatever reason posting while heavily sleep deprived. So sorry for the headache.

why would obsidian use dark horse writers for their game, they have their own writers
