Embarrassing.
Linux is still better than Windows/Crapple obviously.

Finally managed to make anomaly run on my stinkpad

Linux > Microshit > Crapple > Android (Android is just Linux but bad)

why did Valve choose Arch instead of Gentoo for SteamOS?

I actually just did and it was a frickin nightmare doing so. Might switch to arch or debian, but I have never used linux so I'll stick with gentoo for a little longer.

i've already installed fedora workstation

Isn't the whole benefit of gentoo that it's aimed towards compiling the OS yourself? What's the point of using it over something else if you're just going to use the default settings?

if you're just going for generic compiled binaries then there wouldn't be a benefit
compiling everything with `march=native`, lto, etc. might eek out some extra performance for you depending on your hardware but the time investment for compiling along is more than most people would want to commit to
having to manage quite a few config files for USE flags, Licenses, and any build env variances when using LTO can also be quite the chore
that said, I haven't used my Gentoo install enought o actually compare gaming performance as a few things I would use to gauge said performance like Mangohud were failing to compile for me last time I booted into it

How is nvidia on Linux nowadays?

>nvidia on Linux
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
I've heard it's pretty good but I can't vouch for it myself

It's fine. Depending on your distro, installing/updating the proprietary driver might suck. But it works.

it games

>sees window
>cries about it being proprietary bloat

It works but not much else. Same as it was 10 years ago. Hope that helps.

besides, i like my warez. linux got shitall.
winblows might be shit, but it'd the only shit we got. linux is a meme, at best. no one used this shit. literally no one.
well except a few unkempt commies or the occasional dentist.

u rike?

professional work. no one in advertising uses gimp.
and since you obviously can't tell the difference i will now filter you.

Sincere question, what are the benefits to gentoo over something like arch

you can literally run whatever pirated crap you want on linux
if you run pirated content on windows the built-in antivirus occasionally reminds you it's an illegal "hack tool"
>professional work
so you don't need it at home? it's for your job, on your work computer, running a completely separate operating system?

this is an image board. i have linux on all my computers except one. that i have to go to when i meme. reddit is down the hall faggot.
