I said this in another thread that got deleted but there once was a time when we understood that these corporations were predators and saw us as prey, and healthy controls/walls were set up to keep them in line. For example, all gambling was limited to certain places. But these days, (((we))) decided that it is ok for them to run rampant on us.

These companies hire psychologists, behaviorists, economists, etc., to design systems to get us hooked. If it doesnt work then they keep refining it until it does. They are as harmful and rapacious as, say, cigarette companies yet get total carte blanche to get people hooked and extract money and guys like you cheer it on because muh capitalism.

The story feels like mini in scale compared to 3 but quality wise it's pretty much the same. That's to say, neither is particularly great. Don't know how it is on mobile but on PC the combat feels about the same too. Feelings like the main difference is the length of the story and the endgame being p2w meaning it might as well not have an endgame as far as I'm concerned.

Right, but all that means is that you cannot totally blame people for getting hooked on shit that companies spend gorillions of dollars to get people hooked on, and see our normal healthy barriers to getting hooked as obstacles to overcome. The fact that governments are in the pocket of these scumbags doesnt change that dynamic.

The first couple hours are free, and they're great.
Then the progression wall kicks in, which requires a fuck ton of upgrade materials which guess what, can be either grinded out over a longer time, or bought for real money.

It's the same with all successful micro-transaction game. Find a balance between in game rewards and micro-transaction.
So that while it does feel fees-able to progress without spending money, you eventually realize that why spend 4 hours playing the game, you can just the equivalent amount of material for 1 hours worth of a paycheck,
