Roughly 40 years ago there was a market crash in the gaming industry. After that, games clawed there way back to prominence. What followed was almost 30 years of quality games.

So that's how it works, if the market crashes, we'll get another 3 decades of good games instead of the woke blockchain nightmare we're headed for.

Do your part and pirate everything.

>b-but it might not happen this time

Shut up, pussy.

Is this the video game equivalent of hard times create strong men

It makes sense if you think about it. If the market is weak, only people who are truly passionate about games will make them.

All that will happen is even more GAAS and mobile shit.

Pretty much. When times get tough they can't just rest on their laurels and actually have to make something good and can't afford to inject too much bullshit into it.

Holy shit look at this cope. Gaming is more profitable than ever. There is no "crash". You're just mad because you aren't being pandered to anymore. You suffer from "I'm the main character of the story" delusion.

Unfortunately this is what they need to do because these jews want their companies to have an infinite financial growth. You can't just keep making good games etc because they are costly and takes time. It's easier to manipulate people's lizard brain with predatory shit and call it a day and brainwash them to get addicted to this shit. This is what they are doing and it's only getting worse.

We are not at the bottom yet even though this sounds very unfortunate.

You are the reason why gaming sucks.

There was never a video game crash, home consoles were just not ready for consumers before the NES.

Mobile gaming is on the rise while other markets are stagnant.

Fiat currency is worthless. It literally has no real value.

>games clawed there way back to prominence
More like Nintendo fucking salvaged the mess Atari left.

>The Roaring 20s are great, you guys! The next two decades will surely be just the same!

>30 years of quality
oooh, eeeh, eyhh..... each decade had a few scattered years of quality, that much is for sure

There was a market crash in North America in 1983. You can call it Atari Shock or something else, but the market in North America shrunk dramatically before the arrival of the Nintendo Entertainment System. Now were damn Europeans especially the British chugging away on outdated computers of the time and enlightened Japanese consumers, okay? Yeah, but the crash still occurred which destroyed Atari, Mattel, and Colico. So stop trying to make people feel better about the ugly graphics on the Spectrum ZX, you should have bought a Commodore 64.

>Roughly 40 years ago there was a market crash in the gaming industry
that was usa only.
japan was fucking exploding when it came to games.

>we're in the new 20's now

on that tangent, you think the next several decades will be referred to as the 30's, 40's and so on, or will it forever be just be reserved for the 20th century?

The market could crash, taking EA, Activision, Tencent and Take Two with them and it still wouldn't change anything because Microsoft and Snoy will still be around to force whatever devs are left to water down their shit for worldwide consumption. The only hope is if a new player comes in to shake shit up but the only ones trying now are Google and Amazon, both of whom are every bit as pozzed as Snoy and MSFT.

you don't know from hard times, daddeh

The only crash there might be will be the one related to AAA games. Indie games will remain the same and unless there's a big shift in the industry as a whole, so will AA games and lower budget ones.

>market crash in the north american gaming industry
ftfy
yurop wasn't affected by the crash

Yes it will. We already refer to 2000-2010 as "the aughts." Get ready to feel old as FUCK when everyone calls 1920-1930 "the nineteen twenties."
