Go to Any Forums and look at the pc building thread
But to answer your question, yes. 6 core/12 thread is the sweet spot. That said, the 5600G is cheaper and not much worse. If value is your goal then get that

Thanks, I'll ask there. I don't mind the extra £20 for the X.

>The the 5600x still the best value CPU?
i think it's the i5 12400
last i checked ryzen is overpriced as shit now

I just got one this weekend, and I'm happy with it.

They've recently gone down. The 5600x was only $200 last I checked,

When I bought mine last year some motherboards had compatibility issues so check if whatever you're buying needs a BIOS update to run it or not

>i think it's the i5 12400
5600x is cheaper here in Bongland.

Just get a 5800x3D bro. Literally the best gaming CPU for only $400. Back in the pentium/K series days it would have been $1500 for the best gaming CPU.

5600x or 12400f, either are solid budget picks.
i'd personally go for the 5700x for a little futureproofness since consoles have 8 cores.

if you can find one, they're sold out everywhere and scalpers want $650 for it.

The 10400F is worth considering. The downside is the platform but it does have higher performance for its price

Name one reason why scalping shouldn't be punishable for capital punishment.

>buying intel in current year

Its the 2500k of current year.
I wouldnt get a vega apu, rdna2 apus are suposed to be out this summer.

£185 vs £265, not worth it to me.

I will finally upgrade my whole system when Ryzen 7000 drops. I am still on i5 4590 and any upgrade means changing the entire system anyway.

Intel is currently cheaper and faster than AMD at all price points

There is literally zero reason to buy AMD right now unless you already own an AM4 motherboard, or you prefer AMD PSP spyware over Intel ME spyware for no real reason

>all these outdated reccomendations of the 5600x as best value when the 5600 exists now and is cheaper for the same performance.

get 5700x, cheaper than 5800x stronger than 5600x

Enjoy Microsoft Pluton chip-to-cloud security sir

Pluton isn't part of AMD ryzen chips until the 7000 and beyond ryzen chips.

Okay but why are you replying to me

depends on your country, some places sells really overpriced shit intel boards with only 2 ram slot.

when 7000 drops, 5000 gets cheaper.
