He was very mentally ill and for some reason when he went to a mental ward twice they just let him go despite his history. I think he was suffering from either really bad BPD or schizophrenia. Maybe both. It's a shame he didn't have anyone one to really help him when he needed it; everyone wrote off his mentally ill episodes as him just being cringe instead of him needing actual help.
