I can't speak for everybody, I was using Windows 7 up until this year and finally upgraded to Linux Mint because it made sense to.
There's an invisible scale with "Linux bullshit" on one side and "Windows bullshit" on the other side and the scales have been tipped towards Windows bullshit. Quite frankly, I think Windows has become more annoying to use than Linux.

I find it incredibly difficult to believe those clips are from the same computer (in similar conditions for each recording), or if they are, that the right couldn't be resolved with simple some settings tweaking

Sometimes. but really depends. Linux is less overhead and AMD cards handle OpenGL better on Linux than on Windows. So if its opengl or your hardware is strainged or if its one of those weird games that gets a boost in the vulkan conversion layer then yes but normally its just the same game.
As for people implying Nvidia doesn't work on Linux its honestly fine. The open driver is meh and the official is usually a little behind on updates and features.
