Just finished my first playthrough of this CRPG goodie. Want to do another run but I am absolute brainlet when it comes to class builds. I don't know what I should focus on and how to make good synergy of different classes. In the DLC I got my ass handed to me on Core difficulty. I need to learn this shit
Where can I learn more about this and what builds do you recommend? In my last run I did a Legend mythic path and had a Sorcerer/arcane trickster/vivi alchemist but it was meh. Give me something fun HARDMORE: NO KINETICISTS

Ok, but consider: the game is good anyway so no one cares

>Where can I learn more about this
It's complicated because you will always have different opinions, coming from different people, even on a same build.

>what builds do you recommend
I finish the game on Core difficulty with a melee Oracle (battle), Aasimar (angel blood I think, the +2 STR, +2 CHA) and Angel mythic path. This is insanely powerful. As soon as you finish Drezen, you are already a god tier character. I used a scythe with that character

This is also a very rewarding and fun path to follow, so I cannot recommend it enough. And you can score with Galfrey, if you care about that.

Nice, I'll go with that. Pure Oracle 20 or should I put some other classes into the mix?

Yep, pure. No need to invest anywhere else.
Be ready to have way too many spells because you can merge the Oracle(s spellbook with the Angel's spellbook. And when I say it's insanely powerful, I mean it. You'll see.

Thank you, user. You done good today.

Does Camellia have a redemption arc if you romance her? What about Wenduag? Can you REDEEM any of them?

Well, you could go into the official forums or discord and see what other people have played. Maybe codex thread if you can wade through shit like the first few posts.
Or the neoseeker guides for examples.

Legend is not great for spellcasters in the first place, angel or azata pure would have been better for example.

Since you went spellcaster already, you could consdier Bloodrager or magus for a more invovled melee build.
Warpriest and inquisitor are also interesting due to domains /blessings and the extra actions they have beyond spellcasting and attacking

If you go full spellcaster again, do not go trickster path

No,Yes. Use guide, it's tricky

>if spellcaster, do not go trickster

I actually went as trickster originally, but decided to become the Legend because I felt that I am doing my first playthrough wrong

So you went from a suboptimal path to an even less optimal one.
At least trickster with extra sneak dice and completely normal metamagic can have low cost explosive damage.
Legend at best becomes a better martial mage or mystic theurge than a standard 20 level build

Well, yeah, I had a lot of difficulty in the end, but I went blind, so I didn't read on what buffs the mythic path will bring me

>redemption arc
Not for CamCam no. And she is my favourite companion/romance, so I can tell you that. Unless you get the romance mod on the Nexus (with a brand new portrait from the official artist herself), there is no real "happy ending" with Cam. She is too far gone.

About Wendy, I only romanced her when I played my Demon. Since it was an evil path, I cannot say if she's redeemable or not.

Oh man. What does Owlcat make such trashy romance options?
Fucking hell, if they would made Cam redemable and Regill romanceable - this would've been in my top 3 CRPGs
Jeez, do I have to fuck the queen hag now? For real? Oh man

Azata Necromancer/enchanter is hilarous not only do you buff everything into the next dimentions but zippy magic doc rattlebones makes every fight in the game trivial

this is the kind of person who jerks it to bbc cuck porn and pretends to be mad about it.

You can redeem Wendu

I respect your approach, but I cannot imagine myself going azata and not doing double chain lighting with zippy magic +a dip in crossblooded. It's weird how it's the good path but I feel like Palpatine

Halvelven-muderfuckslut is just there to prove Ember wrong.

I've been conflicted about the redemption thing because I am a sucker for both that, and evil female characters (pic rel). I just love that trope.
I'd have loved to "fix" that noble half-elf, but I thought about it and I am fine with was they decided, this time (unlike the decision to not make Amiri available in Kingmaker ; that was a terrible decision imo).

In fact, I'd go further and say that I'd have loved a Bonnie & Clyde, or "Natural Born Killers" kind of ending, if your protagonist is evil.
At the end, I love Camellia because she is...well, what she is, and I am fine with the lack of redemption.

I agree that having evil female characters spices up the games. Hell, you brought up the best romance option from BG2 (although it ends tragically IIRC), but here's the rub: I would prefer if a game would at least HAVE an option to redeem her. It's perfectly okay to let her stay evil if you're evil. But if you're a paragon, then let us convert that bad pussy onto the light side (i.e. Jack from ME2)

That's a fair point. More options are always welcome.

>although it ends tragically IIRC
Yes and it was a bit infuriating, considering how incredibly powerful, those characters are, at the end of ToB.
