Not for the game but I wanted a horror game with a mechanic related to withdrawals. You're an addict and you can take drugs to lessen your withdrawals and make you less sick, improve movement, decrease hallucinations, etc but continuing to take drugs over the course of the game decreases your overall mental health and can lead to a bad end or not being able to completely investigate the games plot.

Games with ideas that put a horror spin on real world things like this would be cool. There was a thread where anons speculated about a hiking game in a forest with no monsters or scares. The creepy part would be shit moving around at infrequent intervals and maybe some eyes in the trees. I think it would need something else to add to the horror factor, but it's a cool idea IMO
