Any visual novels with branching paths?
Any visual novels with branching paths?
>dark path is going up, hero path is going down
Of all the dumb things Ow the Edge did, I'll never not be mad at this one.
>You can be a hero
>a dark lord
>or normal guy
woah
Because you're supposed to go down the list in order, since the True Hero path leads directly into the Last Story.
The Zero Escape Series
You know what? This makes enough sense that after 17 years I'll now finally stop being mad at it.
Thank you.
Honestly, the only one I could think of, are there any others outside of dating VNs?
Zero Escape and AI
>after thousands years of suffering, finally the villain get some rest while wispering "thanks you" to the hero
Kino trope, even irl
Outrun could be interpreted as a visual novel
non-dating VN is unironically a super-niche genre so I wouldn't be surprised if there were many that do that but nobody know (maybe they are jap only too)
When I saw this thread I thought "This should be easy!" and the moment I finished writing Zero Escape I realised I don't know any other VNs that do that.
I heard great stuff about Steins;Gate but I never played it and so I don't know if it has paths or nah.
For a non-branching VN I recommend Higurashi: When they cry
My ideal game genre is "visual novel rpg", too bad there's basically none of them
shadow the hedgehog
isn't that just a generic rpg but without the exploration part?
yeah
There is a flash game called "no one has to die" it's great
so CRPGs?
I heard Higurashi is really good, is the Steam release worth it?
not really a visual novel but there's the somnium files
Already bought it on sale, waiting to finish my re-play of VLR rn.
