>has an actual good gameplay and has enough contest at best to get you invested on
I'm currently at the Port Riots chapter and I've been doing nothing but grinding all the characters so they can survive later on. It's not really bad for a Fire Emblem Clone. Too bad the Devs bailed on it and the community is non-existent

>that fucking engrish
I dropped the game probably half way through after a weird infiltration mission ( Louvres maybe ?).
The coom is definitively not worth the grind.
I just skip the dialogue at worst
Its definitely challenging for an FE Clone. I nearly lost my shit on the Castle Mission where Cavaliers would spawn behind and the dogshit AI of a Cannoneer would fuck around instead of helping you kill the boss
It's a Good FE Clone to satiate my itch since my 3DS is dead and I don't feel like emulating FE games on the DS
I heard some chars are OP and it's not worth to grind and use bad ones.
You don't really need to grind if you keep to the RPS combat system.
Basically all the girls are OP, the game makes this very clear, it's even part of their lore.
The devs put out DLC and got it ported to a bunch of other systems while adding a bunch of hard optional maps and shit in the process. They didn't abandon it, it's just not a live service game
They are talking about how the devs have moved onto a new IP. I'm sure they'll still come back to fix major bugs and things like that, but the game itself is done content-wise.
The online discussion has been dead for a while now. There's barely any discussion going on too + the devs are doing something else now.
The DLC is a Godsend considering how Mu Zhiyun is pretty OP. The combination of Infantry + Tirailleur makes her valuable early on until characters like Cosette comes in
I'm just sad that we didn't get the Egypt DLC and brown colonial waifus.
>we didn't get the Egypt DLC and brown colonial waifus.
>mfw we could have had a full Napoleonic War Banner of the Maid
Why is it often the good ones who die first
How did she celebrate the Platinum Jubilee?
Still weird that Nintendo of all people censored that banner.
I had some fun with it. But it was a tad too hard for me now, sadly. If you moved one unit too close to an enemy, they would just swarm with full suicidal zeal to kill that one enemy. And most of the puzzle section only had one correct solution
Jesus Christ
Get Lannes/Paulinne the ability to heal 20% of their current HP for every enemy they kill and teach the Drummer Girl Stabilization and you're set.
You can park your weaker units around the Drummer Girl and for every turn, she will automatically heal +2 of their health
The money drops sucks dick too and buying your team loaves of bread just so they survive sucks dick
But investing yourself into training and seeing it pay off is worth it. I just wished there's more exp gain for them
XP gain becomes near-zero when your character is the same level as the enemy or higher.
I think the big issue for a lot of people is that if you come from FE, you're used to the weapon triangle being an overall pretty small thing. You aren't going to be dodging much if you have triangle disadvantage, but a strong unit can overcome it very easily.
Meanwhile in BOTM the weapon "square" is incredibly strong, to the point where a unit with disadvantage pretty much dies instantly when attacked.
I remember having a few really good units - all girls - who I made sure was up to par on the xp, and would decimate anything. I should pick it up again, the story was really silly, but it was fine enough for what it was. I did read a lot of French history of that era ages ago, so it was fun to see the different factions and such
The game is kinda fascinating - the Chinese are obsessed with strategy games, and this game was made by the Chinese for the Chinese, so it's hard as shit. I tried playing it, but eventually ran into a wall where I couldn't progress, and decided to drop it. That's the kind of a game you won't see from modern devs anywhere else.
