i like this game but it does feel like its just a few steps from being great. I really did hate how using the kick just depleted your energy so much

Totally untrue, rolls are great for dodging missiles as long as you don't lose all power and slo mo triggers are what they're meant for anyway.

It is, there's absolutely 0 momentum retation and physics, rollspam for energy replenishment looks, feels and plays bad for a variety of reason. It's completely different from bunnyhopping where even without developer intent there's momentum retained and physics related to game engine involved that created a mechanic

Read better retard, the game overuses standard grunts and mechs with bullets and almost never uses rockets and melee.
Also the fact that aiming after roll or after melee automatically triggers slow motion forces players to use those mechanics exclusively for the slow motion, a shallow experience with arbitrary movement restrictions
