You now remember the Battlefield franchise
Jaxon Lee
Justin Brown
>play battlefield as a kid
best shit ever
>play it again as an adult
bored as fuck
what happened
Jonathan Sanchez
Player movement speed is too fast, so interesting and memorable moments are over too fast, or you don't even register whats happening in the game because its just endless cycle of spawn ---> run away from spawn at sonic speed ---> die and repeat
Brandon Martin
woah i totally forgot
which one are you playing?
Andrew Lee
battlefield 1942 vs battlefield 4
Ian Walker
i find bf4 to be entertaining
maybe you're just getting old
when i get bored of the routine i do stupid shit with my friends like jihad jeep
maps also kinda suck for bf4 and an make it boring so there is that
Adam Hall
>1942
Desert Combat was the shit.
BF4 is still awesome.
BF1 would've been the same if they didn't make all those "prototype" automatic guns that was made for console players since bolt rifles, pistols and pump shotguns are simply too hard for them.
WWI wasn't filled with muh 9001 RPM automatic guns.
Liam Scott
i just started to replay bad company 1. it's literally perfect and I don't want it to end.
Brayden Baker
>no BF to this date is as complete and immersive as BF1942
i miss running to a plane ant taking off the airfield, i miss the naval battles, i miss bombing the shit out of a general area with the bomber plane....
Joseph Richardson
died at BC2
really though died at vietnam
Joshua Lee
Even with that, BF1 is still an amazing game in my opinion. I honestly never thought I could be so immersed in an online FPS. The sound design, the graphics, the feel. If there is anything that BF1 nailed, it's that feeling of really being there.
Kayden Watson
BF3 > BF4 = Hardline = BF2 > BC2 > BF1 = BFV > BF2042
Juan Cooper
Why is BF1 so beloved and why is it all consolefags?
I get it, the "graphics" the "immersion" or whatever they go on about see but the gunplay is as bad as BFV and the movement is far worse since the slide nerf. Reddit: The game
Angel Ward
>ywn play bfbc2 with the boys again
>loading up an atv or drone with over 9000lbs of c4 and driving it into the little objective suitcase thing
Grayson Robinson
Pre-downgraded graphics, BF1 (and the Star Wars game they made) simply was soooo fucking good looking and as you say, the sound design is just holy shitballs.
I never played the Star Wars game, but it was using the same engine and stuff that was then used in BF1.
Bentley Campbell
I'd switch Hardline and BC2 but otherwise agreed.
BF4 was very close to being better than 3 but the map design was so ass it completely overshadowed any improvements in other areas.
Nathaniel Gonzalez
Agreed. Map design and vehicle balancing was awful.
Carson Richardson
I see your point. Already several people in this thread talking about the graphics and audio in BF1...
Elijah Martin
I've been having to much fun with HLL to remember BF
Nolan Thompson
>HLL
>fun
LMAO
Adrian Price
yes
Wyatt Gray
Why are Battlefield fags so easy to troll? Autism?
Carter Jenkins
I honestly think some of the prototype guns are cool as shit and add to the charm, same as the state of the tanks and aircraft -- the game's not even really ww1 so much as this clash of steel, oil, and flesh. If you don't even think "this is ww1" but just think "this is a dieselpunk hell war with some familiar flags and uniforms", its weapons are actually pretty coherent and fun to use.
There's still exceptions, don't get me wrong, a few of the guns like the hellriegel cross a threshold of just being too perfect for most situations while not really looking or feeling super cool, but there's so many weird and cool autoloaders, MGs, pistols, etc. that it's cool as shit.
Not personally a consolefag, I'd chalk it up to good art and sound design personally. I disagree on the gunplay, it can be rather satisfying and doesn't compare to BFV at all, though it is way better when servers bump up the damage so weaker guns aren't like beestings and tougher shit just drops men.
Yeah, for reasons like that BF1 has stuck in my memory more than any other bf game, and I've always kept coming back to it from time to time. The visual and auditory feel of the game is just so fucking intense, it's wild.
It especially hits so hard in certain places like that french bunker map or the bunkers in the hills in Monte Grappa.
>Smoke and noxious gas filling the air
>fire
>grenade, mortar, and tank shell explosions shaking the screen
>dust and debris from the roof coming down
>the sound of your labored breathing through your mask
>gunfire, screams and thumps as men get gunned down in another room
>a door gets blasted open
>you wait behind cover as the predictable grenades go off
>you peek and slamfire your shotgun until it's empty, just instantly fucking vaporizing several men
