little kids had no issue completion this game on ds, none of my friends had any problem at all. if the original had the same system with wario, luigi and yoshi and was remade without them you would see people fighting tooth and nail to exclaim that their removal made the game easier, made it less interesting, streamlined the experience, etc. again the changing characters thing isn't even a thing literal children complain about.
