Why is this allowed? Why can't character gen screens just warn me if an NPC has that name?

Well I don't think there's other characters named Ryo in Shenmue but there's multiple characters with the same name.

However on online game, especially ff14 when i tried it, i legit spend 10min thinking of a name and last name to use
