Probably over-exaggerating by calling it a 'flop' but, it is a fact that the second half of the game is a shitshow and rushed to hell.
Tales series are known to have a shitty/weak storytelling and exposition at the second half of the game but, not like this one. This one takes the cake.

I know it made money, but all I see from fans is a huge 'Meh'. It was generic to its core and its third act was just silly.

I think you mean newfags, the last good tales game was xillia. arise is pure shit, they completely ruined the combat.

arise is pure gold. reat characters,cool story and no shota/loli crap.

I'm not the biggest fan how combat is and especially boss battles are in this, but I liked it a lot just like previous Tales. Alphen and Shionne romance was nice.

It’s alright. The world itself is pretty to look at it, but not fun to engage with.
They 100% made it so you either buy level up’s or face damage sponge enemies you grind thru. I don’t recall other tales games feeling like this but it’s been some time.

If a game doesn't hook me long enough for me to complete it then it's just not a good game.

I checked out once our enemy became metaphysics that manifested in the form of a generic zeugle as the big bad. the human conflict was much more interesting.

currently playing berseria and I enjoy it quite a lot, especially the brevity of the skits so far. in arise it felt like they went on forever. obviously the production values in arise are on its face much better, but i think berseria has some nice cutscenes and character moments as well. cast is also much more interesting so far.

the bird shit is also fucking hilarious
