It isn't a bad thing since it still has the traditional style and it's what everyone that actually wants to be good at the game will use since the "modern" style locks away half your moves. This mode is pretty much purely for the casuals that are going to play the game for two weeks to a month and then never touch it again. Honestly the best solution since it gives that audience what they want without dumbing the game down for everyone else.

inputs are literally the easiest part of the genre, you can learn them in a couple of hours
the zoom zooms that try will get fucking destroyed and complain that people just shoot fireballs at them and how OP fireballs are, except when they try it they get jumped in on and blown up
