Honestly theres a very easy way to fix the werehog stages, it'd just be to make enemies have less health. And make it so the encounter theme only plays on enclosed areas, so you can actually hear the levels music.

I have a theory the night stages were supposed to be played as Ristar teaming up with sonic. You know, the whole falling from space and having stretchy arms, those dark monster things that can pass off as aliens, fighting an ancient evil and how fucking stupid a werehog as a concept is and how forced it was.

I always found it charmingly autistic. Plus it worked for what the story wanted, since I think the story is one of Unleasheds strongest points.
Also if werehog didn't exist we wouldn't have that godly holloween short with that ghost girl, so I'm fine with it.

This literally means nothing especially not in Sonic where every character except cream behaves as if they were adults anyway. Their ages are a total nothing that basically exists only in manuals. In Amy's case she is first introduced (in 3d) shopping by herself in station square.
