Ryuji was a victim of Kamoshida. So was Ann. Yusuke was Madarame's pupil and victim. Futaba was her own palace owner. Haru fought her father. Akechi fights his father.
Makoto is only part of the plot because she feels like it, so they had a month of everyone talking shit to her to make you feel like she belonged for some reason.
