for you what

>lightforged undead gets to be a leader
Game is garbage, story is garbage, but at least they did something with the lilian voss storyline they started in Cata.

Arthas had a sister? How she survived the whole sacking of Lordaeron?

>survived
She was brought back to life/undeath by a chandelier and became the first lightforged undead. Completely retconning the fact that isn't possible.

She hid out in the middle of nowhere in a royal safehouse. When the LK's control over the Scourge started to break Alonsus Faol went and found her to keep her safe.
At least that was the case in Legion. No clue what the fuck they've done with her since then besides her getting killed as part of Sylvanas' uber keikaku.

She gets resurrected as a light forged undead (lol) then goes around playing therapist for all the horde leaders and keeps talking them into forming councils. She’s created two councils that we know of and shows no signs of stopping.

Retard

>Lightforged Undead
So.
Just resurrected? Isn't that what the light does? Resurrect nigs?
So she's actually alive? Formerly dead?

It amazes me that they can butcher a character that was brought back as recently as Legion.
Calia outright stated she had no intention of ever claiming Lordaeron or even being a leader or even noble to any capacity.

No since theyre dead but uhhh
dude its fucked just dont ask

she's a corpse rezzed by the light instead of by death magic. people don't actually get rezzed by the light in canon

What cutscene is this from?

This The story makes no sense anymore. Christie Golden is a hack, the self insert writer is a hack. These last two expansions was IP sabotage at its finest.

You know this game is for 12 year olds, yes?

It's more like a light-animated corpse
She's still dead and won't be resurrected but basically she won't rot and decay unlike regular forsaken who are reanimated with death magic

not canon

>people don't actually get rezzed by the light in canon
There are TWO cinematics in which people are revived by holy magic.

Sorry user, that was actually Death magic. It looked like Holy magic but it was actually Death. Death is also the strongest magic in existence and is way stronger than every other kind of magic, and because the afterlife has a lot of different areas it also has access to most of those other magics too, but in better ways because it involves Death.
Hope you enjoyed Shadowlands!

can someone tl;dr the story for us?
I'm not spending 2 hours watching youtube vids of wow cinematics that have the level of dialogue of a play written by sophomores

How far back do you want to go?

WoW's actual expansion to expansion story begins with Cata, which I also consider the start of good WoW.
>Deathwing causes the Cataclysm, shit happens
>Cataclysm reveals Pandaria, arms race between the Alliance and Horde to colonize the island, Garrosh V Horde and Allience, shit happens
>Garrosh is magicked out of prison by the Bronze Dragonflight to AU Draenor where he saves his father and creates the Iron Horde without the fel corruption by rejecting Gul'Dan, he then invades Azeroth and shit happens
>Archimonde is defeated but sends Gul'Dan through a portal, where he then begins the Legion invasion, shit happens
>Sargeras is defeated in super heaven and stabs Azeroth in revenge, or desperation, Azerite lifeblood leaks out to the surface and is mined for powerful weapons, starting an arms race, shit happens
Here's where it goes off the rails (Shadowlands)
>Nzoth the old god is defeated. Eveything is going according to Sylvanas' master plan, she attacks ICC and Bolvar and destroys the helm of domination, cracking the veil open to the Shadowlands, we follow in to fix it, shit happens
>Dragons?
Simple really
