Mounted combat in Elden Ring blows chunks
Mounted combat in Elden Ring blows chunks
I blow chunks in your pusy.
gameplay has never been FS' strongpoint anyway it's really more about the experience and the story
it is primitive, but fun once you learn to always stay behind enemies and whack them to death
It sucks because the mount itself is basically just a means of faster travel instead of an actual companion that you have to take care of. At that point you might as well just add a spell that makes you run faster.
>the story
>you're a nobody who has to save a dying world populated by kings and dragons who are shadows of their former selves for the #45456544s time. lore autists will invent the finer details for us
Now anons will call me AssCreed shitter, but they should have introduced parkour and a superfast run like in the Middle Earth games
>the story
I thought they wrote some simple story, erased half of it and put the remaining half in item descriptions. Something you never experience, something that your told. Calling it a story really misses the point of what a story is.
Torrent in general feels like a weird band aid.
>kings and dragons who are shadows of their former selves
There's a lot of shard bearer's at full power
>Godrick
>Morgott
>Rykard
>Malenia
>Mohg
Additionally, there's Maliketh, who's also at full power and of course the Astels and the Elden Beast. Aside from that one rot-stricken dragon in Caelid, all other dragons are also still in their prime.
While the game definitely has similarities, this is not one of them.
Would have at least made the weird platforming segments they decided to shove in tolerable.
Thr mount should have been a much greater forcus instead of a tacked on feature.
The movekit on mount is as limited as mounted combat from fucking Dynasty Warriors 3 that came out 20 years ago.
Also you can only use the mount where the game allows you to, because even in it's stunted form it is borderline gamebreaking.
I wish mounted combat had more depth and the mount had some customisation options, or at least a form of improvement mechanics.
Its pretty funny to spam sorceries from on to op you're horse
idk, I've been having fun roleplaying as a tree sentinel. That golden axe fucks dudes up
Mount and Blade for people who are too dumb to play Mount and Blade
That R2 is just straight up broken.
You can cheese every human sized enemy without risk or effort.
And it's fucking hilarious knocking them into the air
Yes. Of all the things they could have patched, they didn't do shit for the shitty horse.
>make an open world that's not fun to traverse with the default movement mechanics
>don't want to make actually engaging movement mechanics
>add a mount you can summon anytime
>mounts moveset is so broken they need to artificially limit where you can summon it
Shouldn't have made an open world game at all.
Yes, and the platforming is just as bad.
Still a great game, not perfect in any way, but it is an adventure worth more than the sum of it's part.
Nah, it's good enough. It also feels massively better with bigger weapons and lances.
