Would a 3060 be enough to last me the whole console gen if I only use 1080p?

Yes.

I don't know. I don't really play video games

Yes. I use a 3060ti for 1440p 144hz gaming with zero problems whatsoever, a 3060 for 1080p is more than enough.

You didn't say what fps. But if 60 yes it is enough for a very long time. If you want to push 144 get 3060 Ti at least.

Easily, but you should get the ti version just in case. It's not too much more expensive and will handle newgen memes like raytracing much better.

Not if it's 6gb VRAM

I've spent pretty much my entire life on console so 60fps is still a novelty to me.

But 3060 is 12GB? Or did they make new model.

It was 6 originally

Then I think it's perfect for you because it got more VRAM too. 3060 Ti, 3070 and 3070 Ti got 8 GB.

Easily.
Been using 2060 for the last 3.5 years and is still decent on 1080p, and can perform well on 1440p if there is DLSS support.

Lol laptops have 6gb

Nope UE5 will btfo all GPUs under a 3070 on cinematic mode and games will hit 500gb

There is no cinematic mode on PC. You can tweak every setting.
Also what do you mean 500gb? Disk space? Highly doubt that. Most people are on 500gb SSD's.

Try the tech demo's... cinematic
It will be optional but will hit 500gb

This gen?
Sure.
By next gen that shit will be way underpowered though.

>set shadows to ultra
>50 fps
>set shadows to high
>100 fps
I still don't understand why shadows on ultra kills framerates while having no difference from high.

yes. 1080p high settings 60fps

>But 3060 is 12GB?
What a retarded matchup. The 3060 is not a 4k capable card, it doesn't need the same amount of vram as a 3080-Ti. This is purely a marketing ploy aimed at retards who assume higher numbers = better even though the 3060 won't come close to using all that vram.

yes, next question

The point is that if you don't care about high fps and just want to run ultra everything then 3060 12GB is ok. But if you want more fps go for 3060 Ti+

>UE5
what uses ue5? what new games are worth to play? everything sucks nowadays, there is maybe one game/year that is 8/10 at best.

Just because thread is up, I plan to buy a 3070 for 1080p gaming. My target would be All games 1080p ultra and around 100fps (I have 144hz monitor, 32 inch).
Is this good, overkill or should I look in AMD alternatives?
