Oh, neat. What is this?

I thought it looked OK

maybe, trying to see if it's worth upgrading my GPU before going back to game-dev.
Also, trying to figure out what exactly I want from my game, do I want it to be a VN where every choice tracks, and also a dungeon crawler with some RPG elements?

Or do I want to make some Max Payne shooter with some John Wu shit running around?

Just published my game to itch. I'll use the profits there to pay for the publisher deposit to get it on steam.

so show us

it's only like 100 bucks user

dream exploration platformer called 'sally cant sleep'
its like yume nikki but first person and with a little more structure; you can get abilities and its laid out like a very loose metroidvania. or you can think of it as like a 3d take on the 'knytt' games

Are there any good GMS2 tutorials?

no

Ah, interesting. Sounds like a cool idea

Movement is getting more fluid, and the combat is coming along.

is it one of those duels where you and the opponent have the same skills? those are the coolest shit

Few days worth of progress so far

oops wrong image, wanted to showcase the detailed normal maps i've been playing with

not really- it's an action RPG with highly customisable builds. but gear doesn't matter as much as skill

I think you either overdid the bloom or should be using HDR

this looks like modded oblivion, take that how you want

Working on making anything just enough to start getting my portfolio put together and I feel like coming back to unreal I've just lost everything I learned, I have game design docs, I constantly think of the building blocks I need to put in place to create the game I want to create, but it just doesn't come out once I sit down at Unreal.
example:
>[sister] what game should I make today
>Make a flappy bird clone but with cats and spike balls on chains
>open unreal (bc I can't into unity)
>set up 3d person starter
>toy around with the camera and get it set left to right
>controls same
> can't figure out how to import this cat.obj I donwloaded as a character model
> whatever contine
>can't figure out how to add continuous jumping
>wtf I just knew shit like this
>unreal says open in visstudio look @ the cpp
>get frustrated, can't figure out what i'm looking for
>quit for the day.

i feel like I just scooped a part of my brain out and all my gamedev skill is gone

Why would I be working on a game on my spare time when it's my main job?

how'd you get into the industry. I have 10+ applications out right now, 6 months of prior at an indie studio near me for QA. I haven't even heard a peep from these faggots.

did you try putting pronouns on your resume

kek

isnt unreal is meant for 3d games with physics, why would you make a flappy bird clone with it
just actually learn to code
