Why can't they get Crash's design right in 3D?
Crash Bandicoot
because he was never meant to be
Have to make him hot for the furry bucks.
Naughty Dog did though? If you want an explanation it's because the design was based around the PS1's limitations. So a lot of straight lines at angles taking cues from old Looney Tunes designs. Once Naughty Dog left and the PS2 era began they started adding a lot of curves to his design which doesn't suit him.
He was made for low poly/paper. That’s hard to translate on a higher end console
Because they don't treat him like a cartoon.
I'm not talking about polygons. You can't do Crash right nowadays without those limitations
They don't want or know how to
I don't like the new art design. The characters look a little too weird and ugly (and not in a good way that is appropriate).
It's absolutely possible, but for some reason devs went with this weird mix of cartoony and realistic style, Crash having rendered fur just looks wrong.
This actually looks pretty good. What's it from?
He was always weird and ugly
That's not how it works
I liked Crash of the Titans/Mind over Mutant. I really did.
Crash is a complete idiot, but not deranged
Because Crash never had a good design to begin with. Bad proportions, bad shape design.
This is the best he will ever look.
Sadly no way they'd ever show Tawna with a rack like that again.
but his design is good
Was he supposed to be the mascot for Playstation or something?
CRASH CRASH BANDICOOOOT
best platformers
This brand of mascot is now out of date and execs don't understand the power of consistency
