Unironically make "normal" games more fun than gachas. The goal shouldn't be to kill off gachas but to make games better than gachas. Otherwise you would just end up with AAA shit that is objectively worst than gachas and made no forward progress. Don't hate the current best games because they are winning by default. Hate the devs that haven't even fucking try to make a good game in years. It a free market, literally no one is stopping anyone from making a good game. Vampire Survivors fucking took off the way it did because people were starved for anything fucking fun.

A lot of anons on Any Forums fell for the mobile game and gacha memes and it's awful to see how many are openly admitting to eating shit. Tons of games out there and they all fall for the dopamine hook games efficiently designed to take their money, like casuals with no taste in videogames who don't actually know how to spot a decent videogame, or they're just that addicted to playing something "hip" and "popular". The gacha genre is aimed at casuals for the purpose of getting their money, it's no better than Facebook games but with a gambling spin to it.
I've downloaded Kingdom Come: Deliverance today, it plays out nicely but it is quite awful when it comes to performance, it just started freezing for about 1-2 seconds in intervals about halfway into a cutscene. The unarmed fight with the drunk is literally impossible (I won it once but then reloaded to an earlier save when it turns out that I couldn't take his axe without stealing it despite beating him). I tried the game years ago but gave up when it started lagging a ton, it was sometime after release and it was an unoptimized barely-playable mess. I've also booted up Decision: Medieval on Flashpoint and it's still nice, I was actually getting engaged enough to it that I wasn't rushing to play KC:D.
