This was one of my wife's favorite games, and one of the truly few I'd not played before meeting her. We both played it several times in a row at one point, trying different routes and endings.

I played this like 10 times

Do these obscure ps1/dremcast low poly games actually hold up in terms of gameplay or just aesthetically pleasing?

It depends on the game ofc. Although simply serviceable gameplay-wise, I find D2 to be a unique experience -- like any other late Kenji Eno gem.
You have some game in mind?

Yes a lot, despiria, koudelka, dino crisis, kowloons gate, I just love the aesthetic and atmosphere a lot. But I'll decide on one of them anyways cause I just want to try.
Did I get the terminology wrong?

And I loved it.

Love the whole series actually, although someday I do need to watch the anime
