V Rising

I have no idea why this blew up in popularity, but it's a fun game.

it's a mediocre casualized clone of other games that did it first. honestly it's not worth playing

reddit streamer fotm garbage, explains why Any Forums loves it.

Took to long for true offline mode and even then it's never truly offline since it phones home for validation, whatever that means in the context of having bought it on steam in the first place. Skipped it.

It has some great qualities to it, bosses and general combat are fucking amazing.
Base building is decent.
Having highly cutomizable server settings is excellent.
The grind loop is really shit though. The game would've been better as an actual ARPG with a story of rising to power by slaughtering your foes, with a fixed base to warp to and from and minimizing or removing the crafting, resource grinding, research system, base building, and so on, basically vampire Diablo.

>CHOP DOWN WOOD TO BUILD A BASE

there is no worse genre

its like if minecraft was a souls clone of diablo 1

castle building is fucked up. there are so many abandoned castles but i don't even have enough space to make my own, so i can't even build a golem to tear their shit down and take it over.
and everyone is just blocking off shit. they really need to fix that, it's stupid
other than that it's nice

Would have been my preference as well but right now i'd settle for more pve shit to do like dungeons or NPC raids(Both of the village mob and "rival" vamp small but elite style). Shit at the bare minimum I would have expected that I would have been allowed to bring my thralls as backup anywhere instead of them only dicking around my base if not tasked with a mission

If you don't hit the ground running when a server starts/refreshes, you tend to get left behind and gotta either go somewhere shit-awful/out of the way or wait for someone's castle to decay.

how do i use schematics? researched everything i can with scrolls.

Can you play in single player?
Is it fun in single player?

I don't wanna interact with anyone ever in a video game.

i started playing solo just to check the game and i gotta say the castle building is quite restricted
i had no issues clearing a small mountain for my use, but fuck me transporting iron and copper to it, its like half a night from one point to the other

You need to kill the shepard boss for the anatatenetetumsomething construction

I wouldn't bother playing it solo

It's faster on horseback.
Doubly so if you have a high-grade Worker blood for the horse speed.
Triply so if you put your base near one of the cave teleports from higher-level zones and use that frequently.

Yeah, that's what I figured. Thanks.

I play on a server that has recently doubled stack sizes and allowed unrestricted item teleport. It allowed me to get pretty autistic with my castle builds without too much pain. You might be able to do that to your solo game

You can setup a solo server yes but as for it being fun thats debatable. There's a bunch of things like craft times and servant mission times(2-24 hours) that make more sense in a server that's constantly online and time keeps on ticking. You could modify the settings to tone down the tedium but it's still going to be present. Aside from that it really matters how much you like battlerite/BLC style combat and boss fights as well as your tolerance for the survival crafting genre. Like I enjoyed it purely solo but I'm also the kind of dude that likes grindy games like kmmos and I don't think a lot of others would share the same sentiment

really wish there were more on the fake social aspect of it, when i killed the tailor lady not only was i met with a lackluster boss fight but also a shitty way to stealth around humans
i wasnt goddam vlad dracula, i was a drug selling hobo sneaking around. very disapointing.

Is your character persistent or tied to servers?
