My peanus weanus of course.

Too small, no verticality.

haha!

quick bump and I'll try and post some answers in a sec, pic related is one part of it

Camera helps but the main things that sell it are tall cliffs, open fields, and deep ravines.
Most games are really flat.

Only game that seemed genuinely large to me was New World. If only they didn't copy paste so many monsters and environments.

I have always though a camera system which lowers the field of view, the more covered your helmet is, would be a cool idea. Devs should really harmonise the mechanics of the game with what is going on inside the world.

basically cameras are the issue, which I'm sure you're probably aware of considering the pic you used. it's all about dramatic compositions that make the player look small as well as actually giant landscapes and structures that impose over the player
anyway I'd recommend:
Ico, TLG
Grow Home
Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons
Xenoblade Chronicles X
NaissanceE
Kenshi
BotW
Dragon's Dogma
nothing comes close to SotC though

>nothing comes close to SotC though
This is because team Ico is good at animation work and music.

I remember Dark Souls 2 cheat engine had some camera cheat, which you let me automatically zoom out the camera when I am in a big area. Made dragon fights way more enjoyable.

Game is shit. It’s not big and completely empty. It’s the same with the gameplay, you think it’s epic fighting against big giants but it’s just slow platforming.

the new Gollum game might have some potential too, but I'm not so confident on the game itself
this screenshot is nice at the very least

this .webm in particular is what made me list Xenoblade X, it's quite impressive although I haven't played it yet

Playdead seem to have a good grasp on scale, too, even if Inside is only 2D
their next game is 3D and seems promising from the art I've seen

NaissanceE or however you spell it.
It's free and on steam the start isn't great but gets good not long after.
