Hunger, hydration and tiredness in games
Yes.
>weapon and item durability
if its not a survival game, keep that shit out
why the fuck do people want to turn fallout and the elder scrolls into survival games
>eat food
>food decrease hydration

>retarded frog trannies in imageboards
SO HECKIN REALISTIC
speak english retard
>Is that... realism mechanics? In my simulator game?!
theyre true hardcore gaymers
The best part of Skyrim is the open world, going around doing shit. Survival mechanics have you do more of that, hunting then camping in the wild under the night sky. Plus, it's great for larping.
I dont know why but its fun
>running backwards makes you fall over
we can go deeper
survival mechanics in non-survival games are absolute kino
>Game has survival mechanics & day/night cycle
>Day night cycle is significantly shorter than real life so you have less time to find food & water
>Character also gets hungrier than irl
In effect this means you spend 90% of the game scrounging around, very lame
>crafting
>game has seasons that affect the game world so you have to stockpile food for the winter
it's moderately annoying that companion death is coupled with unwanted survival features because i consider the former essential to balance
Yeah, that's the main problem with survival mechanics. Either reduce hunger or make the day last longer.
>enemies scale with you so there's no progression
Yeah this is fucking dumb af and always ruins games, they are added for no reason and people defend them because muh realism
>redditfrog
>see a thread talking positively about The Long Dark
>buy it and refund in less than an hour
idk how you could possibly make a game more obnoxious without intentionally trying to do so
