Microsoft holds the IP. Molynux went on to do Godus which failed and has been doing mobile games since the other lead developers of Lionhead went on to do their own studios, 4 went to make Media Molecule, which made LittleBigPlanet and is now owned by Sony. 2 went to make Two Point hospital which are currently busy making lots of DLCs for their games Two Point hospital and two point campus.
they can in theory make a B&W like game but Godus didnt work out well.

Only good poster on Any Forums right now.

I think what's more surprising is, to my knowledge, there are no small indy studios taking a swing at the god game genre
Luis Reed
Zoomers are too insecure to want to play god.
Julian Scott
this might actually be closer to the truth of it there's a lot of game genres that are stagnating or outright dead because casual couch gamers and the new gaming generation have incredibly poor taste of some weird reason it's happening in movies, too, where only marvel-like movies make moves in the box office
Landon Lewis
This game was a fucking bastard to beat.
Lucas Thomas
there are sorta god games. there is Reus which is a very simple 2D god game where you control creatures. there is Universim which has been in early access for 4 years now.
Cooper Richardson
>Why haven't they tried making a new one? the original is still mechanically impressive compared to modern titles. they would never be able to make something like it today.
Owen Evans
I actually forgot about Reus even though I own it it was fun for about an hour I suppose haven't heard of the other one

>zoomer is so insecure that someone having an opinion that isn't backed up by fact offends them
Parker Barnes
>Spout total bullshit >Get caught >"IT'S JUST MY OPINION BRO" The absolute state of retards
>haven't heard of the other one its a pretty good game, it is stuck in EA for a long time but it is in active development.
Xavier Lee
the fact is that the genre is dead when it used to be quite popular companies have shifted from "we made a game we wanted to play" to "we made a game which is most likely to profit, ensuring our shareholders don't shitcan us all" so now everything is the same, and it's all you guys play
Austin Wright
Because they ran out of wood.
Nolan Mitchell
>caught >for having an opinion Are you okay?
Luis Diaz
Because the second one was completely soulless and everyone forgot how the exploration and experimentation was what made it such a gem. Not le epic creature battles
Kevin Young
>we made a game which is most likely to profit simple MTX Miracles. charge 99c for every time they cast Rain.
Ethan Mitchell
>state a fact >claim it's an opinion oh my my please at least finish the elementary before you post here otherwise you will look like a total retard

>so autistic that he can't discern a fact from an opinion
You're like the kind of retards who went they see something like "X is the greatest game ever made" say "THAT'S FUCKING SUBJECTIVE YOU RETARD"
How long have you been here? A year? I've been here for 12 years.
Hunter Bennett
>How long have you been here? Long enough to be fed up with total imbeciles who insist on infesting this site
I thought this game would be comfy but it was absolutely not comfy at all. Even the guides for it recommended just dumping hundreds of miracles through the end portal in every level, and I had to constantly babysit the creature trying to get them to plant trees for me. 0/10 would not play again
> Why haven't they tried making a new one? The guy who coded the creature AI is some super genius who went on to achieve massive things in the field (nobel prize or something?), so without someone like that it's probably gonna be hard to replicate
