I think so. I think it also makes you go 'this is going to be a harder version of the past enemy'. So if you see a pink Slime Knight you know it'll be harder than the green one you saw earlier.

You actually can't play most of 9 on handheld, you MUST emulate and use a hacked save to get the DLC.
