Yes, but the lore has changed significantly since 2004. Classic is closer to WC3, but has more grind than the current version.

Mostly, yes. There are minor differences and additions. I forget which patch, but they added more quests to vanilla zones during TBC. Not a huge amount, but it ended a couple dead end questlines.

mmos in general should be avoided since the golden age ended along time ago. I'm sure some final fantasy cult members will disagree bit it's the truth.

That's not really true; it's fun because there are no other WoW-esque alternatives, but there are better "MMOs".

100% the same, but expect bugs in ~5% of the content on Warmane. Some quests are fucked but that's just how it is... Still fun.

The lore is fine, and the environments are some of the best in the genre.

Cutscenes and story deal with narrative, not lore.

It's so easy to make a perfect game. WoW has an abundance of resources from the various xpacks, for example; it's as simple as assigning repair requirements to loot quality... A few developers could produce a few characters, items, zones, and activities per day and have a functional MMO in a month; networking is simply character location, direction, and action.

Hell no. If you're even thinking about playing WoW, play in a private server that offers classic or TBC.
