Do you like Megaman? The early games were a little too clunky for my tastes, but when X came out in '93, I think the series really came into their own, commercially and artistically. The whole X franchise has a clear, crisp soundtrack, and a new dash and wall climbing mechanics, a gameplay standard that really gives the games a big fun boost. Keiji Inafune has been compared to Shigeru Miyamoto, but I think Inafune has a far more bitter, cynical sense of humor.

In '01, Capcom released this, Battlenetwork, their most accomplished Megaman. I think their undisputed masterpiece is "Battle Network 3", a game so addicting, most people probably don't pay attention to the story. But they should, because it's not just about the pleasures of conformity, and the importance of trends, It also has Mayl, the most interesting Megaman character ever created.
