Nah, it was the planned release date from the beginning. Some of the game's cutscenes even used footage from the movie, but they had to use a different soundtrack and redo all of the sound effects for them

Those games were mostly from a time when game development was cheap.

Because the vast majority of licensed games are god awful shovelware pushed out the door with zero quality control and as time moved on we got a lot more resources to see if a game was worth it or not, of which nearly every licensed movie game is not.
